Bogotá feiert den Start des 30. Petronio-Álvarez-Festivals

Fast 1.500 Menschen besuchten am vergangenen Wochenende in Bogotá den nationalen Auftakt der 30. Ausgabe des Festival de Música del Pacífico Petronio Álvarez.

Die Veranstaltung fand an zwei Tagen im Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santo Domingo statt. Gruppen wie Mokumba, Ensamble Chirimía, Patacoré, Chirimía Timbisón und Mangle Sonoro präsentierten traditionelle und zeitgenössische Musik aus der kolumbianischen Pazifikregion. Calis Kulturministerin Leydi Higidio betonte, dass diese Jubiläumsausgabe darauf abziele, den Erhalt und die internationale Wahrnehmung afrokolumbianischer Traditionen zu stärken. Das Festival wird vom 9. bis 17. August in Cali unter dem Motto „La Casa Grande del Pacífico dialoga con el mundo, desde la raíz“ stattfinden. Zudem wurde der Global Summit of Afrodiasporidad vorgestellt, der Cali als Treffpunkt zwischen Afrika, der Karibik und Nord- und Südamerika positioniert. Der Auftakt bestätigt die Rolle des Petronio Álvarez als kulturelle Brücke.

Featuring India as Guest Country of Honor under the theme “Escucharnos es leernos,” the event boasts over 2,300 activities, 570 exhibitors, and 500+ authors from 28 countries. Boyacá is the Guest Region of Honor.
