Brendan Shinnimin verlässt Luleå Hockey nach fünf Spielzeiten und wechselt innerhalb der SHL zu Linköping. Der 35-jährige kanadische Stürmer hatte nach dem Ausscheiden im Halbfinale den Wunsch geäußert, bei Luleå zu bleiben.

Luleå Hockey gab den Abschied auf Instagram bekannt und dankte Shinnimin für seine Leistungen in den vergangenen fünf Jahren. Er verhalf dem Team zum Erreichen von zwei SM-Finals, zum Gewinn einer schwedischen Meisterschaft sowie zu zwei CHL-Finalteilnahmen. Shinnimin begann die Saison 2025/26 in der Slowakei, bevor er nach Luleå zurückkehrte, wo er trotz einiger Kontroversen um Schwalben zum Fanliebling avancierte.

Pontus Johansson has shone in Skellefteå's SM playoff run against Luleå, scoring in recent matches and filling a key role. Expert Staffan Kronwall predicts the 24-year-old will depart Swedish hockey for the NHL after the season. His agent previously confirmed interest from North America's top league.
