China and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea reached a series of important consensus on bilateral ties during Xi Jinping's visit.
Liu Haixing, head of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, said that during Xi Jinping's visit to the DPRK, the two sides discussed plans for the development of bilateral relations and shared visions for the socialist cause of both countries. Kim Jong Un welcomed Xi at the airport, held a grand welcoming ceremony at Kim Il Sung Square, and accompanied Xi throughout the visit. Liu said the visit was a complete success, with achievements in three main aspects. The two sides agreed to maintain close strategic communication through meetings, exchanges of letters, and mutual dispatch of special envoys. They will strengthen alignment of development strategies, expand practical cooperation in economy, trade, agriculture, science and technology, and enhance exchanges in education, culture, tourism and other fields. Xi emphasized that no matter how the international situation changes, China's firm stance on valuing the traditional friendship with the DPRK will not change. The visit injected positive energy into regional and world peace and development.
