The investigating judge in the DANA case rejected on Monday a request to call councilor Juan Carlos Caballero as a witness following mayor María José Catalá's testimony.
The judicial ruling states that Catalá's July 8 declaration does not indicate municipal officials knew of the risk from the Poyo ravine to the La Torre district.
The mayor told the judge that no one informed her about the preparation of the ES-Alert system. The order adds that municipal measures were taken after the critical moments that caused the deaths.
In a separate testimony, Salomé Pradas's driver, Javier Cervera, recounted the October 29, 2024 trip from Carlet to the CECOPI, where he saw water in a ravine and encountered what may have been a tornado.
