WWE star Danhausen has celebrated the New York Knicks' 2026 NBA Championship victory by declaring himself the King of New York and requesting several tributes.
The Knicks defeated the San Antonio Spurs 94-90 in Game 5 of the NBA Finals on June 13 to win the series 4-1. It marked the team's first championship in 53 years.
Danhausen posted a video on X congratulating the team. "Yes, we did it! Danhausen's the king of New York now!" he said. He requested a statue, a mural on Times Square and Madison Square Garden, a parade, and an entire day dedicated to him.
Danhausen had previously cursed the Knicks and ESPN host Stephen A. Smith during the playoffs before lifting the curse. He credited himself with uncursing the team, which then won 15 of its next 16 games.
According to Fightful Select, WWE plans to feature Danhausen more prominently in New York, including at Saturday Night's Main Event on July 18 at Madison Square Garden and Fanatics Fest.
