An elderly man was found dead along the Dalälven riverbank outside Borlänge on Thursday evening after a caller reported seeing a person in the water.
The alert reached SOS Alarm at 19:33. An ambulance helicopter, police and rescue services were sent to the scene but the man's life could not be saved.
Relatives have been notified of the incident. Police stated there is no suspicion of criminal activity connected to the death.
The event took place late on Thursday evening near Borlänge.
