Untersuchungs- und Behandlungsangebote bei Unfruchtbarkeit in Hawassa gestartet

In der Stadt Hawassa wurden durch eine Partnerschaft zwischen dem St. Paul's Millennium Hospital und dem Gesundheitsamt der Region Sidama Untersuchungs- und Behandlungsdienste bei Unfruchtbarkeit eingeführt.

Der Dienst war zuvor ausschließlich im St. Paul's Millennium Hospital in Addis Abeba verfügbar. Dr. Meseret Ansa, Leiterin des Zentrums für Unfruchtbarkeit und reproduktive Gesundheit des Krankenhauses, erklärte, dass aufgrund der hohen Nachfrage an einer Ausweitung des Zugangs gearbeitet werde. Dr. Fetsum Woldegebriel, Direktor des Hawassa Comprehensive Specialized Hospital, betonte, dass Unfruchtbarkeit durch entsprechende Untersuchungen und Behandlungen therapierbar sei. Er fügte hinzu, dass das neue Angebot der lokalen Gemeinschaft zugutekomme, da Reisezeiten und Kosten reduziert würden. Die Initiative wird zudem wertvolle Erfahrungen für das medizinische Fachpersonal in der Region ermöglichen.
