Jerez announces complementary cultural center dedicated to Flores family

Jerez de la Frontera city hall is preparing the opening of Centro Cultural Lola Flores II, a two-story, 166-square-meter space dedicated to singer Lola Flores' family. This new facility will complement the existing museum in Plaza Belén and showcase the artistic evolution of Antonio González 'El Pescaílla', Lolita, Rosario, and Antonio Flores. The project aims to revitalize the historic center and boost cultural tourism.

Jerez de la Frontera will strengthen its cultural heritage through the expansion of Lola Flores' legacy. Centro Cultural Lola Flores II will be located near Plaza Belén, at the height of Nave del Aceite on calle Barranco, forming a hub dedicated to the artist's family.

Municipal officials state the new building will house a permanent exhibition on the careers of Antonio González 'El Pescaílla', Lolita, Rosario, Antonio Flores, and references to Carmen Flores. The ground floor will feature a multipurpose space with a removable tablao for performances, while the upper floor will be devoted to interactive museum sections.

Reinadecorazones, led by director Óscar López and creative director César Cintas, is handling the museography. On-site works will start at the end of May, with completion expected by summer 2026 and possible opening before year-end. The original museum has received nearly 32,000 visitors since opening.

The project bolsters Jerez's profile as a cultural destination, integrating into the historic center alongside sites like the Archaeological Museum.
