LVMH fashion sales rise 1 percent in second quarter

LVMH reported a 1 percent increase in fashion and leather goods sales for the second quarter of 2026. The gain marks the division's first positive result after seven quarters of declines. Group-wide organic revenue grew 3 percent to €19.52 billion.

The luxury group announced the results on Monday. Fashion and leather goods revenue reached €8.89 billion, falling slightly short of analyst forecasts for 1.7 percent growth. Bernard Arnault, chair and CEO, credited creative renewals and new stores for the performance.

Other divisions showed varied results. Watches and jewelry sales rose 11 percent, while selective retailing grew 6 percent. Wines and spirits increased 5 percent, but perfumes and cosmetics fell 1 percent. Regional sales rose 14 percent in Japan and 6 percent in the United States.

Cécile Cabanis, the chief financial officer, noted the Middle East conflict reduced growth by about 1 percentage point. She said Louis Vuitton and Dior both posted positive results in the quarter. Profit from recurring operations for the first half reached €8.7 billion, with an operating margin of 22.5 percent.

Arnault said the group enters the second half with renewed confidence. The company plans to hold its Journées Particulières event from October 16 to 18.
