Richemont jewelry sales rise 24 percent in first quarter

Swiss luxury group Richemont reported stronger than expected sales growth in its jewelry division for the first quarter of fiscal 2027. The results highlight continued momentum in the jewelry segment amid mixed performance across the broader luxury sector.

Richemont said group sales increased 20 percent at constant exchange rates to 6.3 billion euros in the quarter ending June 30. Jewelry sales, which include Cartier and Van Cleef & Arpels, grew 24 percent to 4.7 billion euros.

Specialist watchmakers posted 8 percent growth to 873 million euros, while other businesses rose 9 percent. Japan led regional gains with a 36 percent increase, followed by the Americas at 27 percent and Asia-Pacific at 21 percent.

Bernstein analyst Luca Solca noted the results exceeded forecasts across the board. Deutsche Bank analysts described the performance as a positive signal for the luxury sector overall.
