Polizist in Manipur bei Anti-Drogen-Einsatz erstochen

Ein Polizist aus Manipur ist am Abend des 3. Juni während eines Anti-Drogen-Einsatzes im Distrikt Thoubal erstochen worden. Der Täter wurde am nächsten Morgen festgenommen.

Havildar Kh. Suresh Singh vom 4. India Reserve Battalion wurde während des Einsatzes von einem der Festgenommenen angegriffen. Der 25-jährige Md. Naobi, alias Mahil, verletzte Singh mit einem Messer tödlich und floh anschließend zusammen mit einem weiteren Festgenommenen. Singh wurde in das Bezirkskrankenhaus gebracht, wo jedoch nur noch sein Tod festgestellt werden konnte. Er war Mitglied einer Spezialeinheit der staatlichen Polizei mit Sitz in Thoubal. Die Polizei teilte mit, dass der Angreifer und der andere Festgenommene kurz nach dem Vorfall gefasst wurden. Die Festnahmen erfolgten am Morgen des 4. Juni.
