The Philippine government has built and financed more than 423,000 housing units since July 2022, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. announced. At a ceremony awarding new homes in Rizal province, he vowed to accelerate construction to address the housing backlog. The administration seeks to enhance access to affordable and decent housing through initiatives like the 4PH program.

In Manila, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. revealed on February 16, 2026, that the administration has built and financed more than 423,000 housing units from July 2022 to January 2026. This announcement was made during the awarding of new homes under the Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program in Rizal province.

Marcos underscored the government's commitment to fast-tracking construction and simplifying access to decent housing. “From July 2022 to January 2026, we were able to build and finance more than 423,000 housing units,” he stated. He added, “Along with the acceleration of the construction of these (housing units), we are also strengthening the mechanisms to make it easier to acquire houses.”

The program addresses a national housing backlog of 6.5 million units. The original target was one million houses per year, but it was revised to 3.2 million due to challenges such as procedural bottlenecks and typhoons. Presidential Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro acknowledged the backlog but affirmed the government's efforts: “There was a backlog, it’s true, we admit that. But the government is working to provide our countrymen as many housing units as possible.”

The event at the Megawide Precast Plant in Taytay, Rizal, featured symbolic key handovers to beneficiaries from locations including Palayan in Nueva Ecija, San Mateo in Rizal, Caloocan City, Imus in Cavite, San Fernando in Pampanga, and Mamburao in Occidental Mindoro. Certificates of lot awards were also presented to beneficiaries in Los Baños, Laguna.

Marcos highlighted continued collaboration with the private sector to accelerate production, improve processes, and expand programs like 4PH.
