SMF invests nearly Rp 5 billion to build 56 affordable homes in Surakarta

PT Sarana Multigriya Finansial (SMF) collaborates with three Special Mission Vehicles (SMVs) under the Ministry of Finance to construct 56 decent housing units in the Semanggi slum area, Sangkrah Ward, Surakarta City. The project, started in May 2025 with a total budget of nearly Rp 5 billion, aims for full completion by June or July 2026. Deputy Finance Minister Suahasil Nazara urges acceleration as part of social and environmental responsibility (TJSL).

On February 12, 2026, SMF President Director Ananta Wiyogo and Deputy Finance Minister Suahasil Nazara inspected the progress of constructing 56 decent housing units (RLH) in the Semanggi area, Sangkrah Ward, Surakarta City. The project aims to transform the slum settlement into a neater and more organized area, supporting President Prabowo Subianto's 3 million homes program.

SMF, as coordinator and largest contributor to the 2025 TJSL SMV Ministry of Finance program, is building 37 units with a contribution of Rp 4.48 billion. The total project covers 56 units for 56 household heads, spread across RW 02, 03, 04, and 05. Construction began in May 2025 in two phases: the first phase with 37 units, and the second phase with 19 units targeted for completion in June or July 2026.

The houses are built on 1,120 square meters of land handed over by the Surakarta City Government to SMF. Each unit has 20 square meters of land and a building area of 36-40 square meters with a functional, two-story, eco-friendly design. The program targets families in the lowest deciles II with irregular incomes unable to afford installments.

Ananta Wiyogo stated, "The construction and renovation of 56 decent housing units for 56 household heads with a total value of approximately nearly 5 billion, where SMF contributes approximately for 37 units." He added, "There are approximately 19 housing units (not yet completed) and expected completion in July or June 2026."

Suahasil Nazara appreciated the collaboration with PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (SMI), PT Pusat Investasi Pemerintah (PIP), and PT Geo Dipa Energi. He emphasized, "I was also given an update that there are still some constructions left, some not yet finished. I ask all business entities to continue and complete them." Synergy among SMVs is seen as key to successful slum area improvement, including for riverside residents entitled to decent housing.
