Meta announced Thursday that it is opening its Ray-Ban Display glasses to third-party developers for apps and games. The move expands options for the $800 device introduced last fall.
Meta is allowing developers to create experiences that use the glasses' display and Neural Band controller. Apps can connect to existing iOS or Android mobile apps or run as web apps, the company said in an update posted on May 14. Early examples include glanceable tools such as an interactive film-development guide and simple games like chess and snake.
