Das japanische Patentamt wies den Antrag Nr. 2026-019762 am 24. April 2026 zurück. Die Prüfer kamen zu dem Schluss, dass der Anspruch lediglich einen allgemeinen Monster-Fang-Regelsatz beschreibe, ohne über den Stand der Technik hinausgehende technologische Neuerungen aufzuweisen. Nintendo hatte die Ansprüche im Februar geändert und könnte weitere Überarbeitungen versuchen.
