Nurse sentenced to pay 115000 kronor in damages

A nurse has been convicted by Örebro District Court for accessing relatives' medical records without authorization. The breaches, discovered in 2024, involved up to 90 unauthorized lookups spanning several years.

The ruling requires the nurse to pay 115000 kronor in damages. The prosecution followed after a relative discovered the accesses during 2024. Further checks revealed that the lookups had taken place over several years. Örebro District Court has now delivered its verdict in the case.
