Pennsylvania man charged with punching infant during argument over cellphone

Luis Reyes-Pagan faces charges after allegedly punching his girlfriend's 3-month-old daughter in the head during a fight over a cellphone in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, leaving the infant with a skull fracture and intracranial bleeding. The incident occurred on February 15, and both Reyes-Pagan and the child's mother, Kimberlyn Videa-Dubon, have been charged. They were arraigned and released on bail.

Lancaster City Bureau of Police responded to a domestic violence call at a home on Union Street around 3:34 a.m. on February 15. Officers found that the infant had suffered severe head injuries during an altercation between 46-year-old Luis Reyes-Pagan and 30-year-old Kimberlyn Videa-Dubon, the child's mother. The baby was rushed to Lancaster General Hospital and later transferred to Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center due to the gravity of her condition, which included a skull fracture and intracranial bleeding, court records show. WGAL reported that the fight started over Reyes-Pagan's cellphone. According to charging documents, Reyes-Pagan told police that Videa-Dubon struck him several times while holding the infant. He said he swung his fist at her but hit the baby instead, admitting his actions were 'reckless but provoked.' Authorities allege the infant was injured multiple times, and Videa-Dubon threw the child onto a bed and struck others who tried to intervene, as noted by the Daily Voice. Another child was present in the home at the time. Both defendants face charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, and endangering the welfare of children; Videa-Dubon also faces a harassment charge. They were arraigned and released on $50,000 unsecured bail, with preliminary hearings set for April 27.
