National Police officers went to the EDA TV headquarters in Madrid on Wednesday to execute an arrest warrant against Vito Quiles, who was not present at the location.
The search and capture order was issued by a judge in one of the five open judicial cases against Quiles. The agitator announced on social media that he will not surrender and linked the measure to complaints related to his encounter with Begoña Gómez.
Quiles stated in a video released in the evening that he does not know the exact reasons for the arrest and that police have visited both his workplace and his home in Madrid. His lawyer, Juan Gonzalo Ospina, described the order as disproportionate and noted that they could have notified the investigated party or his legal representative.
Quiles faces pending cases for alleged crimes such as fraud against Renfe, revelation of secrets against Red Eléctrica president Beatriz Corredor, and slander against FACUA secretary general Rubén Sánchez. The activist announced he will present himself tomorrow at a Madrid police station alongside his counsel.
