Zwei Männer in Chennai wegen Verpfändung von gefälschtem Goldschmuck festgenommen

Die Festnahmen erfolgten, nachdem Rajesh Tiwari Soni und Tamilselvan am Freitagnachmittag die Indian Overseas Bank in der Secretariat Colony aufsuchten. Sie versuchten, Goldschmuck mit einem Gewicht von etwa 15,4 Gramm zu verpfänden.

Der Bankgutachter Kumaran, 27, untersuchte die Gegenstände und stellte fest, dass sie gefälscht waren. Er alarmierte die Behörden, woraufhin die Kriminalabteilung der Polizeistation Secretariat Colony ein Verfahren wegen Betrugs einleitete.

Die Beamten nahmen Rajesh Tiwari Soni, 54, und Tamilselvan, 48, fest. Die Polizei beschlagnahmte den vergoldeten Modeschmuck sowie ein Zweirad der Männer.
