During the search, firefighters found the body of the 45-year-old victim, who had been swept away by the current and trapped in accumulated debris near a drain, where she drowned. The Mobile Emergency Medical Service (Samu) confirmed death at the scene, with Military Police attending. The heavy rains caused widespread damage. On the following Sunday, firefighters handled 44 calls related to fallen trees: 26 on public roads, nine on vehicles, and nine on homes. In one incident in the Funcionários neighborhood on Avenida do Contorno, a family of three adults and two children was trapped for over two hours in a car hit by a tree. They were unharmed but waited for Fire Department rescue and Companhia Energética de Minas Gerais (Cemig) technicians to ensure no electrocution risk.
