La Universidad Sun Yat-sen informó que Kang Tiebang fue destituido como subdirector del Laboratorio Estatal Clave de Oncología en el sur de China, y que Kuang Dongming dejó de ser vicedecano de su Facultad de Ciencias de la Vida. Kang fue el autor de correspondencia de un artículo publicado en Nature Cell Biology en 2020 que contenía diversos errores en datos e imágenes.
