Nathan Potier and Erica Palmer face charges after allegedly using a 14-year-old girl as a surrogate to carry Potier's twins. The pair was arrested in Nevada following an investigation that began in Oklahoma. They are expected to be extradited to face child abuse charges.
Authorities arrested Nathan Potier and Erica Palmer, both 36, in Sparks, Nevada, on Tuesday by the United States Marshals Nevada Violent Offender Task Force. Potier faces one count of sexual assault of a child, while Palmer is charged with one count of enabling sexual abuse of a child. The arrests followed leads from the Regional Sex Offender Notification Unit, and both are held in Washoe County Detention Facility—Palmer on $200,000 bond and Potier on $300,000 bond—awaiting extradition to Oklahoma County. The investigation started in December 2025 when Oklahoma Child Protective Services reported a 14-year-old girl pregnant with twins, allegedly resulting from abuse by the couple. Potier is believed to be the father. Palmer reportedly told police she wanted children with Potier but could not due to her tubal ligation. Court documents indicate the couple targeted the teenager, and prior California reports alleged Potier abused her with Palmer's knowledge. The pair fled Oklahoma before a planned DNA test on Potier. The victim is now in foster care.
