Foreign Minister Gedion Timothewos said the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam and Bishoftu International Airport are confirming Ethiopia as the regional energy and logistics hub.
At the sixth Ethiopia-United Kingdom Trade and Investment Forum in London, Foreign Minister Gedion Timothewos highlighted ongoing economic reforms that address foreign exchange challenges and create a stable environment for foreign direct investment.
He noted that the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam, along with other renewable power projects, exceeds domestic needs and positions Ethiopia as the regional energy hub. The Bishoftu International Airport is generating investment and employment opportunities in aviation, logistics, construction and tourism.
Seventeen electric vehicle assembly plants have begun operations, with plans to reach 60 facilities by 2030. According to IMF forecasts, Ethiopia's economy is expected to grow 9.2 percent this year.
