Sanidad ha confirmado este lunes el primer caso positivo de hantavirus en un español evacuado del crucero MV Hondius. El paciente, asintomático y en buen estado, aguarda una prueba confirmatoria mientras permanece aislado en el Hospital Gómez Ulla de Madrid.

El crucero zarpó hacia Países Bajos con 32 personas a bordo tras completar el desembarco de los últimos pasajeros en el puerto de Granadilla de Tenerife. De los 14 españoles repatriados, solo uno ha dado positivo provisional en la prueba PCR realizada al llegar al hospital.

Los otros 13 permanecen en cuarentena bajo vigilancia activa hasta el 17 de junio, con tests de control programados. El protocolo de Sanidad prevé hasta 42 días de seguimiento desde el desembarco del 6 de mayo.

La Organización Mundial de la Salud y líderes europeos han elogiado la operación de repatriación coordinada por España, que involucró a 23 países. El director de la OMS, Tedros Adhanom, calificó el operativo de "trabajo bien hecho".
