Sanidad confirma un nuevo caso de hantavirus entre los españoles en cuarentena

El Ministerio de Sanidad ha confirmado este lunes un segundo caso positivo de hantavirus entre los 14 españoles evacuados del crucero Hondius que permanecen en cuarentena en el Hospital Gómez Ulla de Madrid.

El paciente, que no presenta síntomas, fue identificado durante las pruebas PCR periódicas realizadas a los contactos estrechos. Ha sido trasladado a la Unidad de Aislamiento de Alto Nivel del mismo hospital.

Los 14 españoles llegaron al centro el 10 de mayo tras desembarcar en Tenerife. El primer caso se detectó poco después del ingreso y evolucionó favorablemente. Los otros 12 continúan dando negativo.

Las autoridades sanitarias han indicado que la detección se produjo dentro del protocolo de aislamiento activado y no altera el riesgo para la población general. Los evacuados que sigan negativos podrán finalizar la cuarentena hospitalaria el 7 de junio y completarla en sus domicilios hasta el 21 de junio.
