Kanini Kega's mother dies hours after Gachagua dispatches him to London

East African Legislative Assembly MP Kanini Kega is mourning the death of his mother, Mama Annah Nyatoro Wairimu, who passed away early on Friday morning.

Kega confirmed the loss in an emotional statement. “I am devastated and heartbroken. It is well with my soul; however, it is difficult to believe that my mother has rested. It is painful,” he said.

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua also sent condolences. He noted that he had assigned Kega a diplomatic task in the United Kingdom only the day before the death.

Gachagua described Mama Annah as a respected family matriarch who worked hard to educate her children. Leaders across the political divide have expressed sympathy to the family.
