Kisii County Governor Simba Arati made a surprise visit to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital on Wednesday, April 1, in the spirit of Easter. He interacted with patients across the wards, sharing gifts and words of encouragement. "In the spirit of Easter, I took time to visit and share gifts with our people admitted at the facility, spreading hope and encouragement during this special season," Arati announced.
He waived medical bills for over 100 patients to ease their burden and allow focus on recovery. "I have waived medical bills for over 100 patients, easing their burden and allowing them to focus on recovery and spending time with their families," he added.
During the visit, Arati assessed service delivery and commended doctors, nurses, and staff for their dedication. He highlighted transformations from recent renovations, including installation of fully automated laundry machines that wash, dry, iron, and fold hospital linen.
These machines will also serve sub-county facilities, boosting hygiene. "I am particularly impressed by the newly installed fully automated laundry machines at KTRH, which have the capacity to handle linen and other fabrics from all sub-county hospitals. These modern machines wash, dry, iron, and fold automatically, enhancing efficiency and maintaining high standards of hygiene," he said. The county government pledged continued investment in healthcare improvements.
