Laura Itzel Castillo dirigirá la Secretaría de las Mujeres

La presidenta Claudia Sheinbaum anunció el lunes que Laura Itzel Castillo encabezará la Secretaría de las Mujeres una vez que concluya su labor en el Senado.

La senadora por Morena, quien presidió la Cámara Alta tras Gerardo Fernández Noroña, asumirá el cargo en la dependencia creada por Sheinbaum. La Secretaría de las Mujeres carece de titular oficial desde hace dos meses, luego de que Citlalli Hernández regresara a las filas de Morena.

Sheinbaum precisó en su conferencia matutina del 15 de junio que Castillo gestiona las fechas para incorporarse. El siguiente periodo ordinario de sesiones del Congreso inicia el 1 de septiembre y la Cámara se encuentra actualmente en Comisión Permanente.

Castillo, nacida en la Ciudad de México el 16 de noviembre de 1957, es arquitecta egresada de la UNAM e hija del político Heberto Castillo. Ha ocupado cargos en el PRD y Morena, además de roles en el gobierno de la capital y en Pemex.
