Laura Itzel Castillo comandará a Secretaria da Mulher

A presidente Claudia Sheinbaum anunciou nesta segunda-feira que Laura Itzel Castillo chefiará a Secretaria da Mulher assim que concluir suas funções no Senado.

A senadora do Morena, que presidiu a câmara alta após Gerardo Fernández Noroña, assumirá o cargo no departamento criado por Sheinbaum. A Secretaria da Mulher estava sem um titular oficial há dois meses, desde que Citlalli Hernández retornou ao Morena.

Sheinbaum afirmou em sua coletiva matinal de 15 de junho que Castillo está definindo as datas para assumir. O próximo período ordinário de sessões do Congresso começa em 1º de setembro, e a câmara está atualmente em Comissão Permanente.

Castillo, nascida na Cidade do México em 16 de novembro de 1957, é arquiteta graduada pela UNAM e filha do político Heberto Castillo. Ela ocupou cargos no PRD e no Morena, além de funções no governo da capital e na Pemex.
