La estación Legarda del LRT-2 ofrece estacionamiento gratuito para pasajeros del tren

Los pasajeros de la Light Rail Transit Authority ya pueden estacionar sus vehículos de forma gratuita en la estación Legarda del LRT-2 en Manila. El servicio comenzó recientemente, siguiendo una oferta similar en la estación Santolan hace un mes.

El secretario de Transporte, Banoy Lopez, declaró que la iniciativa tiene como objetivo aliviar la congestión del tráfico, reducir la demanda de combustible y acortar los tiempos de viaje. El estacionamiento está disponible todos los días de 4 a.m. a 11:30 p.m. por orden de llegada, sin permitir estancias durante la noche.

Los pasajeros deben obtener un comprobante de estacionamiento del personal de seguridad en el lote, viajar en el tren y validar el comprobante en la Oficina de Asistencia al Pasajero de su estación de destino. El comprobante validado es necesario al salir del área de estacionamiento.

El Departamento de Transporte ha promovido el uso del transporte público en medio de los aumentos en los precios del combustible vinculados a la crisis en Oriente Medio. Desde marzo, el gobierno ha subsidiado las tarifas en un 50 por ciento en las líneas LRT-2 y MRT-3.
