Marcos declara a Naga como ciudad altamente urbanizada

La alcaldesa de la ciudad de Naga, Leni Robredo, anunció el 27 de mayo que el presidente Ferdinand Marcos Jr. firmó una proclama que declara a Naga como una ciudad altamente urbanizada.

La proclama se produjo después de que el Consejo Municipal de Naga aprobara la Resolución N.º 2026-078 el 27 de enero. Se trata de la primera ciudad en la región de Bicol en recibir este estatus y la número 34 a nivel nacional.

Robredo señaló que la noticia llegó en el cumpleaños de su difunto esposo, Jesse Robredo. Agradeció a todos los que ayudaron a asegurar esta clasificación.

El nuevo estatus otorgará a Naga independencia del gobierno provincial de Camarines Sur. Todavía se requiere un plebiscito, que será llevado a cabo por la Comisión de Elecciones, para la ratificación final por parte de los residentes.
