Interior Minister Kipchumba Murkomen faced sharp criticism from opposition leaders over his verbal attacks on Rigathi Gachagua.
Opposition leaders including Kalonzo Musyoka, Justin Muturi and Eugene Wamalwa issued the criticism yesterday during a church service at AIC Namanga in Kajiado.
Muturi described Murkomen as intoxicated by power after receiving a high office. Musyoka stressed that Murkomen's statements reflect the position of State House and that threats against citizens and the media are unacceptable.
Murkomen made his remarks on Saturday in Moiben and yesterday in Bungoma, claiming Gachagua lacks the capacity to destabilize the government and that the country remains stable under President William Ruto.
The opposition also announced plans to mark Saba Saba on July 7 to advocate for human rights.
