Växjö Lakers sign Peter Cehlárik to two-year deal

Växjö Lakers have signed forward Peter Cehlárik to a two-year contract ahead of the next SHL season. The 30-year-old Slovak leaves Leksand after its relegation and will join the club at the end of September or in October.

Cehlárik played the past four seasons with Leksand and served as assistant captain last year. Across nine SHL seasons with Luleå and Leksand he recorded 177 points in 324 regular-season games.

The forward said the move appealed because of Växjö’s consistent pursuit of the SM gold and its style of play. He added that he aims to contribute offensively while playing a complete game without the puck.

Sport director Henrik Evertsson called Cehlárik an important addition, noting his smart and responsible style along with his goal-scoring edge. The signing was announced on 18 July 2026.
