In a tense match at home against Södertälje SK, Vimmerby HC ensured their survival in the HockeyAllsvenskan with one regular-season game remaining. Södertälje took the lead at 4:03 of the first period through A.J. Vanderbeck, assisted by Patrick Zackrisson and William Wiå. Vimmerby responded quickly, tying the score at 1-1 just 7:30 later when Johan Mörnsjö converted a breakaway opportunity.
The second period saw Vimmerby dominate, showcasing quick transitions and strong pace, while Södertälje struggled to generate pressure until the final five or six minutes. The third period ended goalless, leading to a shootout where Vimmerby emerged victorious, earning two crucial points.
Meanwhile, in the parallel fixture, Västerås IK trailed 0-2 against Mora IK but mounted a comeback, thanks to goaltender Oliver Håkanson's 37 saves.
