Danantara buys ojol app shares to cut driver commission to 8 percent

Badan Pengelola Investasi Daya Anagata Nusantara (BPI Danantara) has bought partial shares in ojek online (ojol) applications to reduce driver commissions to 8 percent. DPR RI Deputy Speaker Sufmi Dasco Ahmad stated the share purchase will gradually adjust the applicators' systems and policies. President Prabowo Subianto signed Presidential Regulation No. 27 of 2026 on this policy.

DPR RI Deputy Speaker Sufmi Dasco Ahmad stated that BPI Danantara has bought partial shares in ojol applicators. The purchase aims to reduce driver commissions from 10-20 percent to eight percent, said during an audience with labor union alliances in Jakarta on Friday, May 1, 2026.

"The first is to lower the fees taken by applicators. Previously 20 or 10 percent, so applicators will only take eight percent from what is collected," Dasco said.

President Prabowo Subianto signed Presidential Regulation No. 27 of 2026 to cut ojol applicator deductions to eight percent. In a speech for International Labor Day at Monas, Jakarta, Prabowo said, "I say here, I do not agree with 10 percent, it must be below 10 percent."

Prabowo emphasized the policy defends the rights of hard-working ojol drivers risking their lives. He stated the government is ready to take over struggling companies to keep workers employed. Dasco added that ojol driver organizations will be involved in discussions on employment status.
