Elisa Albuquerque reported that an app driver refused to transport her and her daughter with autism spectrum disorder on Tuesday, July 14, in Belo Horizonte.
According to the mother's account, the driver saw the girl's identification badge and said he would not proceed with the ride. The incident occurred around 3 p.m. as the two were leaving a health post.
Elisa Albuquerque stated that she exited the car upset and slammed the door hard. She recorded the argument, in which the driver called her a clown and suggested she buy a car.
Uber said it is investigating the case, as there was no time for verification before the video was published. As of the article's closing, the Civil Police had not responded and the driver had not been located.
