Ruotsin eläinlääkintälaitos (SVA) varoittaa, että tappava sinitiaisten tauti voi levitä tänä vuonna aiempaa laajemmin Ruotsissa. Havainnot sairaista ja kuolleista pikkulinnuista, erityisesti sinitiaisista, ovat lisääntyneet helmikuusta lähtien. SVA on vahvistanut taudin esiintymisen verkkosivuillaan.

Ruotsin eläinlääkintälaitos (SVA) on havainnut selkeän kasvun sairaista ja kuolleista pikkulinnuista tehdyissä ilmoituksissa helmikuusta alkaen. Tauti koskettaa pääasiassa sinitiaisia, mutta myös talitiaiset voivat sairastua.

"Saamme yleensä hajanaisia ilmoituksia sairaista pikkulinnuista osana villieläinten tautiseurantaamme, mutta nyt näemme selvän suuntauksen, jossa sairaita sinitiaisia on tavallista enemmän", sanoo SVA:n apulaisvaltioneläinlääkäri Karin Olofsson-Sannö.

Sinitiaisten tauti johtuu bakteerista, joka aiheuttaa linnuille keuhkokuumeen ja nopean kuoleman. SVA saa nyt eri puolilta maata ilmoituksia lintulaudoilla olevista "kuolleiden pikkulintujen kasoista". "Eräänä päivänä ne näyttävät täysin terveiltä, ja seuraavana päivänä lintulaudalla voi olla kasa kuolleita lintuja", Olofsson-Sannö lisää.

Edellisen kerran taudin laajempi epidemia koettiin Ruotsissa vuonna 2020.
