Stoic details Towerborne's full release exiting early access

Stoic has outlined the major updates coming with Towerborne's full release, set for February 26. The action RPG will exit early access with a complete story, new bosses, and a reworked difficulty system. Players can look forward to enhanced gameplay features and free cosmetics earned through play.

Stoic, the developer behind Towerborne, has shared details on the game's transition out of early access. The full release is scheduled for February 26, marking the end of its preview phase on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.

Key additions include a complete story with a full narrative arc centered on a major antagonist. This encompasses new side quests and an overhauled Bounty Board for deeper engagement. Combat will see significant enhancements, with two new bosses—including the primary antagonist—alongside lieutenants and umbra enemies to challenge players.

The difficulty system has been fully reworked, featuring a complete game rebalance and a new 'Brutal' mode for hardcore players. The World Map has been reimagined, introducing a new coastal biome to expand exploration. New encounters and combat challenges bring fresh gear, player abilities, and a Forge system that allows modifying, upgrading, and re-rolling stats on equipment.

Further improvements cover quality-of-life updates, bug fixes, and multiple save slots. Players can import their current characters and loot from early access. All cosmetics are now obtainable for free through gameplay, eliminating purchases, with a substantial number of new ones added. The soundtrack receives new compositions from Austin Wintory.

These changes aim to deliver a polished experience, building on feedback from the early access period.
