Chile's Policía de Investigaciones (PDI) arrested a 24-year-old man for his alleged role in a February shooting homicide in San Pedro de la Paz, Biobío region. The incident occurred at a home where the victim was shot by three intruders. The suspect will face detention review on Monday.
The PDI's Brigada de Homicidios, along with the Concepción Homicides Task Force, arrested the man on Saturday in Hualpén commune. The homicide took place last February at 10:55 a.m., when the victim was at home with his partner and two workers.
Three subjects entered the residence, restrained the workers, and went up to the second floor. One of them then shot the victim, who died at the scene.
Subprefecto Enrique Guzmán, head of Concepción's Brigada de Homicidios, stated that "from the investigative process carried out by the detectives, relevant evidence was obtained linking this person to the crime, leading to the respective arrest warrant, which was executed yesterday by the detectives and task force team in Hualpén commune".
The 24-year-old suspect has prior records for receiving stolen goods, theft, drug law violations, and violent robbery. He is scheduled to appear in San Pedro de la Paz's Guarantee Court for detention review today.
