AMD has announced plans to bring its FSR 4.1 graphics upscaling technology to older Radeon graphics cards starting this July. The rollout begins with RDNA 3 and 3.5 based GPUs before expanding further in 2027.
AMD senior vice president Jack Huynh revealed the update in a video presentation. FSR 4.1 will first reach RDNA 3 GPUs such as the Radeon RX 7000 series along with integrated options like the Radeon 890M. Support for more than 300 games is promised at launch through a driver update.
Leaks suggest AMD is preparing to re-release the Ryzen 7 5800X3D processor as a 10th anniversary edition for the AM4 socket. The move could allow users to upgrade older systems without switching to expensive DDR5 memory and new motherboards. No official announcement has been made yet.
