Capitals acquire defenseman Timothy Liljegren from Sharks

The Washington Capitals have acquired defenseman Timothy Liljegren from the San Jose Sharks in exchange for a fourth-round pick in the 2026 NHL Draft. Internationally, Liljegren has represented Sweden at the 2016 and 2017 IIHF U18 World Championships, the 2018 IIHF World Junior Championship, and the 2023 IIHF World Championship. He earned silver medals with Sweden in 2016 and 2018.
