Miami Marlins catcher Joe Mack made an accidental trick throw during Friday night's game against the Tampa Bay Rays. The unusual play occurred in the first inning of Miami's 7-2 loss at Tropicana Field.
Mack threw the ball toward second baseman Xavier Edwards, but it struck shortstop Otto Lopez's warmup toss to first baseman Christopher Morel. Players and fans watched in surprise as the ball deflected in an unexpected way. Mack later said he had never done that before and could not help but laugh at the moment.
