Marina Moscone sisters decide to pause fashion brand

Sisters Marina and Francesca Moscone have chosen to suspend operations of their namesake womenswear label after completing current commitments. The move follows a decade of building the independent New York-based business launched in 2016. Spring 2026 marks the final collection to be produced and delivered.

The cofounders described the decision as emotional and deliberate rather than forced by any single event. They aim to step back from the pace of multiple collections and runway shows to reassess what is sustainable for an independent designer brand.

Marina Moscone noted that the industry has grown more challenging for smaller labels competing with large groups. Issues include delayed payments from retailers, shifting production costs, and pressure to deliver constant new content across channels.

The pause includes no set timeline for return and no plans for liquidation. Inventory will continue to sell through the brand website while obligations to staff and partners are fulfilled.

The sisters emphasized that the brand achieved its core goals of creating discreet, high-quality pieces meant to last. They view the break as an opportunity to reflect on future possibilities.
