Mercedes has told Kimi Antonelli he cannot race on the Nordschleife this year. The decision came after the 19-year-old expressed interest in obtaining the required permit. Team officials want him to focus solely on Formula 1.
Mercedes deputy team principal Bradley Lord made the position clear during the Nurburgring 24 Hours. He told Nitro that the team would not allow Antonelli to obtain the DMSB Nordschleife Permit this year. Lord added that Antonelli had probably raised the idea as a joke and suggested he might try after winning four world championships.
