Mercedes interdit temporairement le Nürburgring à Kimi Antonelli

Mercedes a informé Kimi Antonelli qu'il ne pourra pas courir sur la Nordschleife cette année. Cette décision fait suite à l'intérêt manifesté par le jeune pilote de 19 ans pour l'obtention du permis requis. Les responsables de l'écurie souhaitent qu'il se concentre exclusivement sur la Formule 1.

Le directeur adjoint de l'écurie Mercedes, Bradley Lord, a clarifié la position de l'équipe lors des 24 Heures du Nürburgring. Il a déclaré à Nitro que l'écurie n'autoriserait pas Antonelli à obtenir le permis DMSB Nordschleife cette année. Lord a ajouté qu'Antonelli avait probablement évoqué cette idée pour plaisanter et a suggéré qu'il pourrait tenter sa chance après avoir remporté quatre championnats du monde.
