Romania seeks to strengthen partnership with Ethiopia

Romanian President's senior advisor Dacian Cioloș stated that Romania wants to be a strong partner to Ethiopia across multiple sectors during talks in Addis Ababa.

Ethiopian President Taye Atske Selassie received Dacian Cioloș, former Romanian prime minister and current senior presidential advisor, at his office. The advisor noted that Ethiopia's new procedures for foreign trade and investment create favorable opportunities for Romanian investors.

This year marks the 60th anniversary of Romania opening its embassy in Addis Ababa. Cioloș highlighted Ethiopia as a crucial partner for Romania in the East Africa region and within the African Union.

Over the past ten years many young Ethiopians have pursued higher education in Romania. The two countries plan to expand cooperation in economic, political and international organization fields as well as in universities and professional sectors.
