Pedro Sánchez accounted on Wednesday in Congress for corruption cases affecting his government and the PSOE. Several parliamentary groups, including some allies, questioned his majority and demanded explanations.
During the appearance, Sánchez defended his management and stated that corruption repulses him. He said the cases are isolated and attacked the PP and Vox as a return to corruption.
Alberto Núñez Feijóo, PP leader, accused Sánchez of being the political corruptor nexus and urged him to dissolve the Cortes to call elections. Feijóo said the government put the State in the hands of thugs.
Junts demanded Sánchez's resignation without elections to elect another PSOE president. ERC, through Gabriel Rufián, asked if Sánchez knew something or had stolen, though maintained support. The PNV noted that the majority is negative and gave a last margin with the budgets.
Podemos asked Sánchez to step aside and call elections. Vox also demanded elections. Sánchez rejected advancing elections and showed willingness to continue beyond 2027.
