Tesla launches FSD in South Korea exclusive to Model S and X

Tesla has rolled out Full Self-Driving (Supervised) software in South Korea, marking the seventh global market for the feature. The initial launch targets Model S and Model X vehicles with AI4 hardware, leveraging a trade agreement to bypass some certifications. Early user reports praise its performance in dense urban traffic.

Following months of speculation and an announcement earlier in November 2025, Tesla officially activated FSD (Supervised) in South Korea on November 26, 2025. This makes South Korea the seventh country to receive the technology, after initial rollouts in markets like the United States, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Australia, and New Zealand.

The deployment began with Tesla's standard approach: distribution to key influencers and early adopters. Initial feedback highlights FSD's adaptation to Asia's challenging driving conditions. One user shared on social media: "$TSLA 🇰🇷 FSD is now live in Korea, and the way it navigates those shared streets is impressive 🔥On this tight road, the system appears to have a lower, more appropriate sensitivity to pedestrians 🔥This eliminates the problem of sudden, unnecessary braking 🔥Amazing 🔥 pic.twitter.com/Bpk93twt9O".

This rollout introduces FSD v14.1.4 overseas for the first time, while countries like China, Australia, and New Zealand remain on v13.2.9. North American markets use the latest v14 builds. The launch is limited to Model S and Model X equipped with AI4 (HW4) computers, built in Fremont, USA. This exclusivity stems from the Korea-U.S. Free Trade Agreement (FTA), which allows U.S.-manufactured vehicles to import under American safety standards, avoiding domestic hurdles for Chinese-made Model 3 and Model Y.

In Seoul's dense and aggressive traffic, FSD has shown strength in handling cut-ins, complex intersections, and narrow lanes. An early tester reported: "$TSLA 🇰🇷BREAKING : I just experienced FSD (Supervised) for the first time in Korea. The vehicle is Model X and the FSD version is *V14.1.4. We have yet to see any official cases of V14 being applied outside of the United States and Canada. I've just completed my first FSD run… pic.twitter.com/521P7Ckgn5".

Tesla will monitor user reports before expanding to more AI4-equipped Model S and X vehicles, potentially with v14.1.7. For Model 3 and Y owners, additional safety certifications are needed due to regulatory differences, but the flagship deployment serves as proof-of-concept. Future challenges are legal rather than technical.
