Ahmed Shide appelle à un financement accru pour les futurs corridors routiers

Le ministre éthiopien des Finances, Ahmed Shide, a appelé à un soutien financier accru pour la construction de futurs corridors routiers lors de la 28e réunion ministérielle de la Banque africaine de développement, organisée en marge des réunions de printemps de la Banque mondiale et du FMI. L'Éthiopie a participé à cette rencontre.

Lors de cette réunion, le ministre éthiopien des Finances, Ahmed Shide, a souligné les résultats de l'examen à mi-parcours de quatre corridors routiers. Les responsables ont indiqué avoir mobilisé 3,8 milliards de dollars pour la construction de plus de 9 100 kilomètres de routes. Depuis 2019, les partenaires au développement ont fourni 2,7 milliards de dollars pour ces projets. "Le soutien financier pour la construction de futurs corridors routiers doit s'intensifier", a déclaré Ahmed Shide. Il a rappelé que l'Éthiopie est un pays enclavé de plus de 130 millions d'habitants, fortement dépendant des corridors de transport pour le commerce. Les investissements dans ces corridors économiques sont essentiels pour faciliter les échanges, renforcer la compétitivité et créer des emplois. Les ministres ont abordé les déficits de financement restants pour l'achèvement des projets. La réunion a mis l'accent sur l'intégration des solutions de financement, la comblement des lacunes et l'exploitation de la pleine capacité économique pour accélérer les initiatives de corridors, lançant ainsi un appel à l'action.
