Daniel Schall, PDG et cofondateur de Black Semiconductor, a déclaré que l'entreprise tiendrait ses premières galettes de silicium d'ici la fin de l'année si tout se déroule comme prévu. Des ouvriers ont commencé les travaux au printemps pour transformer une ancienne usine de voitures électriques en salle blanche. D'autres entreprises de puces comme Infineon et TSMC construisent actuellement des usines à Dresde. La plupart des entreprises de semi-conducteurs prospères renoncent à leur propre production.
